Hi, I would like a net book, mainly for when I travel, as my cell phone doesn't have the net on it. I've heard that net books come with generally, little memory, and so wouldn't be able to support a full version of Jaws (iI'm in version 10.2), but I have updates that I haven't installed yet. Does anyone use a netbook with Jaws, and if so, how is internet connectivity when you're out. I have WiFi on my laptop, but have never taken out of range of my wireless internet.
Also, I'm wanting to learn windows 7. Does anyone know how well it works with JAWS? Do you like the program or not? I'm wanting to update my computer skills a bit. I don't wanna buy Windows 7, if it's not gonna work. Let me know how it's worked for you.

Hi, I have just updated to Jfw 11, but it's for Xp pro. I assume I'll have to buy all new software if I change my platform to Windows 7?

Hey there. I just got a new netbook about 2 weeks ago. I am new to Windows 7 and made the jump from XP. The change was frustrating at first as 7 is quite different than XP. If you've never used Vista and are coming straight from XP like I did, I'd recommend reading through some intro tutorials on the net before you get started just to get familiar with how things work. I made the mistake of just poking aroung and trying to figure it out on my own and caused myself a lot of grief and frustration. Once I bothered to read up on it a bit, things went much better. I'm running JAWS 11 with windows 7. I've got an Intel N450 processor and 1 GB of Ram. I've orderd a 2gb ram upgrade but it's not here yet. JAWS is running fine. It's gone choppy on me a couple of times, but if I just have 1 or 2 programs running, I don't have any trouble. System Access does get very choppy though so hopefully a memory upgrade will help. I haven't been out and about with my netbook yet so I don't know about how easy it is to connect to wireless hot spots yet, but Connecting to my home network was a snap. The computer found my network right away as well as the networks of my neighbors so I suspect hooking up on the go will be a breeze as well.Hope this helps and good luck.
